Description:

A dense, bushy small tree with large, glossy dark green leaves, producing attractive green-brown fruit that splits to reveal bright red seeds surrounded by sweet, raspberry-like edible flesh. Loved by native birds. Resistant to salt spray and south-east winds, and an important host plant for several local butterflies, including the Common Pencil-blue, Glistening Pencil-blue (Candalides absimilis), and Hairy Line-blue (Erysichton lineatus).
