An upright, spreading shrub with large, serrated leathery leaves up to 30 cm long. From December to May, it produces striking blue-green to lime-colored flower spikes up to 20 cm tall. Woody seed cones remain on the plant, adding year-round interest. Ideal for wetter areas, this iconic architectural shrub makes a standout feature in small coastal gardens while attracting native wildlife.
