Description:
Narrow, upright herb to 1m, stems and leaves hairy, in sunny, open areas. Leaves to 10cm x 20mm. Flowers to 4cm, winter to summer. Formerly Bracteantha bracteata.
Special Features:
Used in cottage gardens, rockeries, border plantings, and mixed native landscapes. It is suitable for pots and balconies.
The papery bracts retain their color and shape for years, making them ideal for dried, long-lasting floral arrangements.
The plant has reported anti-fungal and antibacterial properties; essential oils are sometimes extracted for skin treatments.
