Description:

Narrow, upright herb to 1m, stems and leaves hairy, in sunny, open areas. Leaves to 10cm x 20mm. Flowers to 4cm, winter to summer. Formerly Bracteantha bracteata.

Special Features:

  • Used in cottage gardens, rockeries, border plantings, and mixed native landscapes. It is suitable for pots and balconies.

  • The papery bracts retain their color and shape for years, making them ideal for dried, long-lasting floral arrangements.

  • The plant has reported anti-fungal and antibacterial properties; essential oils are sometimes extracted for skin treatments.
