News from the Manager
Vale Stephanie Haslam. Stephanie’s infectious love of the coastal landscape and its plants especially the Wallum ecosystems was so inspiring, thanks you Stephanie.
Though I had only met Stephanie fairly recently, we hit it off with our enthusiastic chats about the Wallum and our feverish desire to conserve the very precious coastal environments we love so much.
Stephanie was the author and coauthor of a number of books that we use as references regularly and keep at the nursery for customer perusal and purchase.
The stock is looking sooo good at the moment, and the planting conditions are favourable, so please come and take advantage of the bargains we have in store for you this month.
If you have chosen us as a supplier for your Land for Wildlife project, the cut-off date is the end of May, so you may want to consider getting your plants sooner than later whilst our stock is full and very healthy.
Cheers Tim
President’s Welcome |
Greetings members, and welcome to autumn! After a hot and steamy summer, it’s pleasant to be able to work in the garden and enjoy it. Autumn is also a good time to be planting, so that your new plants can settle in over the winter. There are always new species of plants becoming available A big THANK YOU to the presenters of the workshops held at the Nursery over the summer. We were thrilled with the response of members to the workshops, which were filled very quickly once announced. Given the success of those workshops, we plan to offer more during the year. If there’s something you’d like to know more about, or if you missed out one already run, please contact the Nursery via website or email. Feel free to comment on our new logo, which was the cause of much discussion, but the final choice was widely popular. We can now go ahead and label our vehicles, so keep an eye out! The CCNN website has been upgraded, and now it’s the physical Nursery’s turn. Behind the scenes at the Nursery there are always jobs to be done, and pot-washing is one. Weeding is another, a job hard to keep up with when the plants in our display gardens are growing so densely. Our volunteers are doing their best, and always welcome assistance. Lastly – the Members’ special – read on to find out! |
Members’ Special

Let us introduce you...to our new logo. |

This project was a community collaboration put in the hands of 3 volunteers. With twists and turns, a trip to Antarctica taking out the science communicator Lana, incessant meddling from committee and staff, pencil scribblings and many disagreements - the whole process was a 'fingers-crossed' exercise that delivered a logo with energy. Its slightly crazy and colorful presence represents our community. With special thanks to Robyn, Margherita, and Mark. |
